OK, so “50 First Dates” is for the most part senseless, yet they work really hard with it. Honolulu veterinarian Henry Roth (Adam Sandler) succumbs to Lucy Whitmore (Drew Barrymore), just to discover that, because of a mishap, her memory just keeps going one day, so she will not recollect him the following day! How might Henry adapt to this? The film floats among ridiculous and touchy, however never gets mind-desensitizing; Adam Sandler consistently has something at his disposal, and he and Barrymore make some extraordinary memories with the material.
